We’re here to shine some light upon a double release from our resident mʊdʌki — one foot in the game world, the other in deep sonic drift. Speculare is the original soundtrack to Filip Trubač’s video game of the eponymic name, all eerie textures and dream logic. The Labyrinth stands on its own as a slow-burning set of post-industrial echoes cut from the same fogged-up cloth. Both released now on tape and digital via Stoned to Death records, a Czech label founded in 2012 in Pardubice, dedicated to the raw edges of the underground. With a focus on experimental, avant-garde, and lo-fi sounds from the Czech scene and beyond, the label thrives on oddball intensity, DIY ethics, and a healthy disregard for genre boundaries. Run by a crew of beer-loving, noise-seeking misfits, Stoned to Death is a home for the beautifully unhinged.

Speculare is the original soundtrack to an immersive video game of the same name by Filip Trubač — a meditative drift through a fragmented 3D-scanned world, echoing the existential spirals of Comenius and Camus. Composed by mʊdʌki, the score weaves together foggy ambient textures, synthetic melancholy, and sonic mirages, guiding the player through a digital labyrinth of memory, illusion, and repetition. Released now on cassette and digital via Stoned to Death as part of a double album alongside The Labyrinth.

mʊdʌki is moniker of Polina Khatsenka, composer and producer from Minsk (currently based in Czech republic, or nomadic). Khatsenka studied at Ústí nad Labem, where she established connections within Czech electronic music underground and co-founded phonon~ crew. https://soundcloud.com/mudaki

Under the moniker of mʊdʌki she extended her field of expertise to sound design, field recordings, electronic music composition, dulcimer sound manipulation, live hardware techno zoneouts or expertly crafted dj sets. You can come across her work at art galleries, small diy clubs or at late night raves and parties.

On The Labyrinth she presents her dystopian corridor vision through six dubbed-out slowburner tracks. Dense on atmosphere, The Labyrinth offers near 60 minutes spent in hypnotic timeless zones covered wall to wall with astute post industrial beats and slabs of space-ship doors grease. Worth mentioning is a further collaboration with studio Moebius (Filip Trubač, Kristýna Marková, Josef Ber) on Echoes of Wittine - an experience-based game set in the ghostly outlines of a vanished village. Through sonic remnants and haunted ambiences, mʊdʌki traces the blurred edge between memory and myth, following the spectral footsteps of Eugen Schwarz through overgrown paths and ruined houses. A yet-unreleased soundtrack is suspended in time, awaiting its moment to resurface.
