Ikarus

"Ikarus: Histories of Electronic Music of Belarus" is the author's project of radio co-founder KorneJ, who, thanks to his many years of sound design experience, has woven a polyphonic history of the Minsk electronic scene of the 1990s. “When I read books or watched documentaries about the emergence of electronic scenes in Chicago, London, Berlin, or Leningrad, I always wondered: ‘What was happening here in Minsk?’” he says. “Which were the first Belarusian bands to start playing electronic music? Where and how did people gather at the first Belarusian raves? And how did electronic music penetrate the consciousness of people and contribute to the development of cultural ties within Belarus and beyond its borders? These questions will be the focus of the first season of the ‘Ikarus’ podcast.”
