Eng8 introducing Taemna
Ambient project with IDM roots.
Taemna releases its debut album Pavietra on Belarusian label Ezhevika. Taemna is a side-project of eng8, who is known for releasing cyberpunk breakbeat with dystopian vibes. The new project, by contrast, is focused on melody, melancholy, and emotions. It’s a nostalgic trip back to times long gone but full of warm memories. In musician's own words:
– For a while, I’ve been making and releasing ambient and experimental music as eng8, but this year I realized that these two projects – eng8 and the other more experimental one – should be separated, as don’t really fit together stylistically. That’s why I created Taemna. The name highlights its Belarusian roots, and the album is, in many ways, about Belarus. I’ve got deep IDM roots, and I tapped into those for Pavietra.
Pavietra is out on streaming platforms, thanks to the Ezhevika label. But there’s more – the artist is teaming up with the British label Pulse State for a physical release of an expanded version with a few exclusive tracks, coming soon on CD and Bandcamp. Stay tuned!
